It was thought that the gods blew on creative people, who would then inhale the god's breath and have an idea. This is the premise of "inspiration": inhaling divine breath and ideas.

When Man becomes God..

1. He is loved by the masses in times of triumph. The praises boost his confidence to higher levels and he feels complete. He feels responsible for the whole crowd and is elevated in spirits. 'Our God' they call him.

2. He is held responsible for any failure. The people roar at him with anguish voices. They chain him, stone him and celebrate at his death. 'Traitor' they call him.

Reminds me of a poem of Robert Browning:
I
It was roses, roses, all the way,
With myrtle mixed in my path like mad.
The house-roofs seemed to heave and sway,
The church-spires flamed, such flags they had,
A year ago on this very day!

II
The air broke into a mist with bells,
The old walls rocked with the crowds and cries.
Had I said, "Good folks, mere noise repels -
But give me your sun from yonder skies!
"They had answered, "And afterward, what else?"

III
Alack, it was I who leaped at the sun,
To give it my loving friends to keep.
Nought man could do have I left undone,
And you see my harvest, what I reap
This very day, now a year is run.

IV
There's nobody on the house-tops now -
Just a palsied few at the windows set -
For the best of the sight is, all allow,
At the Shambles' Gate - or, better yet,
By the very scaffold's foot, I trow.

VI
go in the rain, and, more than needs,
A rope cuts both my wrists behind,
And I think, by the feel, my forehead bleeds,
For they fling, whoever has a mind,
Stones at me for my year's misdeeds.

VIThus I entered Brescia, and thus I go!
In such triumphs, people have dropped down dead.
"Thou, paid by the World, - what dost thou oweMe?
" God might have questioned; but now instead'
Tis God shall requite! I am safer so.

Robert Browning

When God remains God

1. He remains elusive in all situations playing his game of hide and seek.

2. In success we praise, He simply smiles lovingly at us.

3. In failures we scorn, He simply smiles lovingly at us.

  1. This is the v reason why MAN shdnt become GOD for the sake of others. a man's goal, if intended for others, at the best, shd b of that of being a human being, coz this endeavor itself is so difficile at times one really forgets what GODliness is all about.

however, every MAN has the right to become GOD for himself. its his prerogative to build his own world, his life, his dreams, his goals, his words, his happiness, his sins and his sorrow coz he dsnt have to fear being stoned or being eulogized. He remains his creation, his GOD.

  2. I wrote the post keeping in mind the eternal nature of God in comparison with the mortal nature. How the minds of people alter the fate of the man whom they called God! whereas men have no such control over the omnipresent. No cataclysm can occur to cause the debacle of God. The closest a man can get to God would be to accept joys and sorrows as same, times of praise and rebuke alike.
